Mario Ruffini
Progetti di Musica e Arti figurative
Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz – Max-Planck-Institut

The important retrospective exhibition dedicated to Giovanni Colacicchi by the Fondazione Bardini e Peyron at Villa Bardini and open for six months from 18 April to 19 October will be accompanied by two collateral exhibitions opening in May in the centre of Florence.

The first will be dedicated to his wife, Flavia Arlotta “Twentieth-century Woman and Painter”, which will be held at the Accademia delle Arti del Disegno at Orsanmichele.

The next exhibition, at the Casa Siviero, Lungarno Serristori, will be entitled “The Drawings of Giovanni Colacicchi at the Casa Siviero. In memory of the meeting with Giorgio De Chirico”.

Both exhibitions fall within the 2014 celebrations to be held in honour of the 450th anniversary of the founding of the Accademia delle Arti del Disegno and the death of Michelangelo.

The exhibitions were the idea of Mario Ruffini, director of the Music and Figurative Art Projects of the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz — Max-Planck-Institut. The exhibition dedicated to the drawings of Colacicchi is curated by the art historian Susanna Ragionieri, the most important expert on the work of Giovanni Colacicchi, and by Mario Ruffini.
